Located on the west side of the Island of Montreal in southwest Quebec, Montral Est is a suburban suburb on the island of Montréal, formerly part of the municipality of Rivière des Prairies du Pointe-aux-Traits-Ville. The area of Montral Est was once home to a variety of factories, including the Canadian National Railway's main freight line and the Canadian National Railroad Company's rail yards in nearby Pointe-aux-Traits.
