The History of Cranbrook Street North

The main street of Cranbrook Street North is named after the father of one of its founders, George Stanley. While he may not have been a great orator or philosopher, he did have a knack for getting along with people, and as such, his name was changed to Cranbrook Street. He and wife Eliza were the first to live in the house, and from there the streets are referred to as the Stanleys.

The house itself is beautiful and one of the main areas of the neighborhood where homes are built on what was once a field. The property was once a wheat field, and as such, the house was built directly on the ground. The land was later developed and became one of the fastest growing areas in the city.

This was a very important time in Cranbrook's history because one of the biggest things in their history was the onset of the Great Depression. When the couple arrived at the property, they did not have the luxury of an income, so they worked hard to make ends meet. In order to do this, they had to take a lot of time off from work. Because of this, they were able to build a house which was quite large, yet one which was still comfortable for the Stanleys.

George and Eliza would hold many meetings on their property, and it was in these meetings that they were able to build the church and the community center that are known as the Stanleys. One of the major buildings that was built during this time was the Community Center, which was located next to the Church of the Holy Redeemer. While this building was never used for purposes other than being a meeting place, the Stanleys still wanted it to be a place where people could gather for social reasons. They held a large gathering here for many years and even built one of their own in the present day.

A number of the residents of Cranbrook Street moved into the community center, but a larger number of people stayed behind in order to attend the meetings held there. As a result of this, the community center was destroyed by a tornado in 1970. Fortunately, the building was rebuilt in a way that was more appealing to the general public, and it is now open again.

Another important event that took place in the history of the neighborhood was when one of the Stanleys got married. A couple of the children who were living in the house were born on this day, and the bride was named Alice Stanley. This was the only wedding which was held at the home, which was not held in the church.
